PLOTO’s first six months

On 8-9 March, the project’s partners were invited to Budapest, Hungary to attend the first in-person meeting after the kick-off organised last September. During this two-day event, over 30 representatives from partners’ organisations gathered in the Library of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics to wrap up the first six months of PLOTO project.

Since the beginning of the project, partners went full speed in developing the operative framework to support the cooperation between all the organisations involved. During the two-day event in Budapest, each work package leader presented the achievements and the next steps for the implementation of resilient measures for inland waterways. The project had challenging deadlines to submit the first deliverables and achieve the initial milestones, but the joint effort permitted the timely submission of five deliverables (D1.1, D1.2, D2.1, D8.1 and D8.2). In the initial phase of the project, partners have also collaborated in developing external synergies to establish liaisons with sister projects to further the creation of added value for PLOTO and the inland waterways transport sector.

This in-person meeting also allowed partners to work together, participating in two planned workshops, discussing more in detail the possible options to better cooperate with each other and the next steps to further the collaboration between Romanian, Belgian and Hungarian pilot sites. The first discussion was related to end-users and the specification of system requirements, use cases, scenarios definition and KPIs. In the afternoon, the second workshop had a more technical focus, involving partners in the design process of the overall system architecture, PLOTO production/deployment environment and asset taxonomy.

Here below some pictures of the Plenary meeting.

The next Plenary meeting will be in September and it will be hosted by PLOTO partner University of Maribor in Slovenia.
