PLOTO Team Celebrates Colleague’s ASCE State-of-the-Art Award Civil Engineering Triumph

We are delighted to announce that Vasilis Melissianos, a valued colleague from SoReCC and a key member of the PLOTO project, has been awarded the 2024 ASCE State-of-the-Art of Civil Engineering Award.

Melissianos received the award for the paper titled “Onshore Buried Steel Fuel Pipelines at Fault Crossings: A Review of Critical Analysis and Design Aspects,” published in the Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice in September 2022. His analysis and insightful contributions have significantly advanced our understanding of critical design aspects related to onshore buried steel fuel pipelines, particularly at fault crossings.

Established in 1966 by the professional associates of John D. Winter, M.ASCE, this award holds immense prestige within the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) community. It reflects the dedication and expertise of individuals who strive to enhance the industry through scholarly review, evaluation, and documentation of scientific and technical information essential to the profession.

The entire consortium extends the heartfelt congratulations to V. Melissianos for this well-deserved award!
